The 204th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Peru

On 24 July, the World Trade Centre hosted a reception to mark the 204th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Peru.

The event was attended by ambassadors from around the world, politicians, authorities from Russian regions, various experts in working with Latin America, and numerous organisations related to the business environment and humanitarian cooperation.
The reception was opened by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Peru to Russia, Mr Juan Genaro del Campo Rodriguez. Among the speakers was also Mr Alexander Valentinovich Shchetinin, Director of the Latin American Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It should also be noted that the Peruvian Ambassador to the Russian Federation in his speech paid tribute to the memory of the Soviet pilots and medics who died on 18 July 1970 as a result of the crash over the North Atlantic of the An-22 aircraft carrying humanitarian cargo for the residents of the Peruvian towns of Huaraz and Yungai, who suffered from the devastating earthquake.
"This event is part of our work plan for 2025, in which we are strengthening interaction with our partners and inviting them to the November Forum, which will traditionally be held in St Petersburg. Every day we receive more and more confirmations of participation in our event from foreign representatives, which, of course, will contribute to strengthening communications with the Russian business community that will participate in the Forum" - commented Mikhail Cherepanov - Chairman of the Organising Committee of the VII IMBRICS Forum
