The International Municipal BRICS Forum is expanding its presence in Brazil

On April 14, as part of the official preparations for the upcoming Forum in St. Petersburg, the Co-Chairman of the IMBRICS Forum Organising Committee, Devanir Cavalcante, attended an event at the Agreste campus of the Federal University of Pernambuco.
The event entitled "Agreste & BRICS: Connections for the Future" brought together representatives from the public sector, local authorities, academics and entrepreneurs. The event discussed the topic of regional innovation centres in Brazil and how they can interact with international platforms such as the IMBRICS Forum.

Devanir Cavalcante gave a presentation highlighting the strategic objectives of the Forum and formally invited local institutions and companies to participate in the IMBRICS Forum, which will take place on November 20-21, 2025 in St. Petersburg. The presentation also included the launch of a publication with proposals and perspectives related to the Forum's global agenda.
The visit to Caruaru is part of a broader information and invitation campaign for representatives of Brazilian municipalities and regions, reinforcing the country's active role in the VII IMBRICS Forum . Caruaru is recognised as one of the most dynamic economic and technological centres in Brazil's interior. The city is home to the second largest textile manufacturing cluster in the country, producing more than 800 million garments per year.
